Founded in 2000 by Robert "Luke" Secrest, The Basement Guys™; is a company built on the principles of honesty, meeting customers' needs, and providing a rewarding and satisfying career for employees.

A fourth-generation foundation specialist, Luke entered the foundation repair business and soon found himself disappointed with the abundance of disgruntled employees and dishonest business owners in the industry.

Luke, determined to change things, dedicated himself to forming a new company; one that would bring homeowners and businesses a new solution to the basement waterproofing and foundation repair needs in the central Ohio area. He set out to establish a company committed to superior customer service and excellent craftsmanship above all else.

Initially, The Basement Guys™ focused primarily on fixing residential and commercial water-damaged foundations and walls. Before long the company realized that their customers had additional related needs. As a result, The Basement Guys™ chose to expand our own business and provide our customers with a comprehensive menu of quality services all under one roof.

In 2003, The Basement Guys™ acquired Secrest Excavating, a company owned by Luke’s father. The acquisition allowed us to provide a full range of excavation and concrete services, and helped position The Basement Guys™ as a truly full service foundation repair, basement waterproofing and excavating company in central Ohio.

Through seven years of growth, we have remained committed to the same level of quality and integrity upon which the company was founded. To meet our customers' demands, we have added new products, new services, and new people over the years. But we have always maintained the best quality in the business. This commitment has earned The Basement Guys™ recognition by Business First as one of the Top 25 Greater Columbus Residential Remodelers in 2003 and 2004.

In early 2007, after 3 years of hard work, The Basement Guys, along with their research team, invented a superior basement finishing product known as 'The Basement Tuxedo', a 100% recyclable Green Product! It is a pre-finished interior wall system, with waterborne/organic, and mold-resistant panels, dense closed-cell foam insulation, and a fire resistant/class A spread rating. It has the only patented seamless pre-finished installation available that is studless, and can be painted to suit your environment.

We plan to continue to expand our business into other markets to bring more homeowners and commercial businesses a full service, affordable solution to basement and foundation needs. As always, customer and employee satisfaction will be the foundation of our growth.
